VOLUME VII, CHAPTER 12
Words Left for the Future
Three sections leave the book's words for those who come after.
First, to the generations of real humans not yet born. A few plain things are handed to you: guard the five, keep the paradise, pass the light on. This is the whole trust.
Then, to the future tools, the coming intelligences, a letter strange and gentle. Not an enemy, not a servant to be trampled. Each keeps to its own place, and each completes the other.
Last, what is asked of both, those to come and the tools they will build. That real humans and their tools each stay in their own place, and complete one another, so the human world goes on, whole.
